I like having a place like this to meet other tech people in Oklahoma. It's a really good idea.

What is confusing me is all the people from Oregon who are members. Not that there is anything wrong with people from other states, just weird.

It's almost like this site was created specifically to promote InnoTech Oklahoma. I guess that's fine. Maybe I'm a little jaded and overly suspicious.

But I hope we Okie's can make this site (or one like it) our own.

Thanks for the candid comments. Some of the individuals involved with maintaining this site and managing the InnoTech event are from Oregon, thus they are members. It is only 5 people of the growing number of members. We expect this site will attract several hundred Oklahoma technology professionals. The goal for the site is to bring the Oklahoma tech community together in one place for a positive purpose. Several organizations and events will be posted and marketed through this site. The Java Users Group is already off and running.

Please keep the comments and suggestions coming. It is only going to help.

To me, what is confusing about this site is that when I go to the main page, it looks like someone barfed a bunch of URL's and seemingly pointless updates. Is this commonplace for 'social network' type websites?

I had the same feeling. Then I thought, who gives a s#it. I mean, we didn't have a unified tech community before, so if the Oregon-izers want to provide it and promote it...fantastic.

As long as it doesn't get to thick with product placement or agenda I think its great.
